Jackson-Reed High School strives to build a safe, supportive, and welcoming community of dedicated and self-reflective learners equipped to joyfully embrace our opportunities for growth on the path to citizenship.

Greetings Jackson-Reed Community,

Last week we celebrated and recognized our incredible Faculty and Staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. Again, thanks to our PTSO and others for recognizing our educators throughout the week with treats, notes, and displays. The compassion and commitment our Teachers and Staff display daily are commendable and appreciated!

As we share about teachers, I can’t overlook the first teacher our children ever had: their mother. Happy Mother’s Day to all the Jackson-Reed mothers and mother figures! Thank you for supporting your child(ren) and contributing to their education here at Jackson-Reed. It makes a difference; I can see it in our results, specifically with our attendance data.

Our students are attending school and class at a higher rate than last year. We have an in-seat attendance rate of 86%, a four percent increase. We want that momentum to continue, so keep encouraging our Tigers to attend school, attend their classes, and complete their coursework. All members of our attendance team are working to ensure accuracy with attendance. If you have questions about attendance, do not hesitate to contact their grade-level attendance counselor or Mr. Hall, DSL, at brandon.hall@k12.dc.gov.

Tigers R.O.A.R.,
